HOW MANY TIMES CAN YOU FILL ACRYLIC NAILS?

You just get an acrylic nail fill in for about two weeks and wonder how many times you can fill your acrylic nails before replacing tips.

A new set of acrylic nails can be filled from 8 to 13 times before it needs to be replaced. Because natural nails grow and push the acrylic nails outward, they should be filled to maintain the fresh look and strength every two to three weeks, and acrylic nails are only supposed to last up to 6 months or 26 weeks on the natural nails.

Since each time you have an acrylic nail fill costs money even though it costs less than an acrylic new set. This is one of the reasons you want to make your acrylic nails last so you can have the lowest number of fills for your acrylic nails before you replace them with a new set.

How many times can you fill acrylic nails?

Typically, acrylic nails need to be filled between two and three weeks.

In theory, the number of refills for acrylic nails is between 8 to 13 times. However, in reality, how many times you can get your acrylic nails filled depends on how fast your natural nails grow and how light or heavy you use your hands and fingers in the day. Therefore, your number might not be the same as other people’s acrylic nails.

Do keep in mind that your set of acrylic nails will last longer and require fewer fills if you take better care of them. There will be less breakage, worn-out tips, or nail polish chipping that make you come back to your nail salon to get your raggedy-looking acrylic nails filled to make them look fresh again.

How many times can you fill acrylic nails before replacing tips?

In reality, the number of acrylic nail fills do not affect when you need to replace new tips. Acrylics should last up to six months on the nails. After six months, the acrylics will degrade, and you will have the old acrylics at the free edge. These old acrylics are brittle, and they can break, crack or chip easily.

Furthermore, there are two more bad things with old acrylics. Old acrylics do not adhere well to the natural nails as they are new, and they tend to lift or separate from your natural nails easier. Worse yet, lifting or separated acrylic nails from the nail plates could trap moisture and cause fungus on the nails. The other is old acrylic nails will show stains from previously applied color nail polishes or turn to yellow color from the sun, and they do not look fresh anymore.

That is why the number of acrylic fills does not affect the acrylic nail tips as much as the long the new set is put on your nails.

Ideally, you should replace your acrylic nail tips when they are six months old.

Long acrylic nails will need to be filled more often

If you like to wear long acrylic nails, you must learn how to work with them without damaging them to keep the fresh look longer.

Long acrylic nail tips generally are under more stress than shorter ones. Because of this, they will lift more and will require fills more often.

Long acrylic nails tend to get caught and break or crack more often. This will ruin the complete look of the nail set and make you want to get them filled in more often.

On the other hand, short acrylic nails will need fewer fill-in or refills because there is less breakage, chipped nails, or worn-out nail polish.

Heavily used acrylic nails will need to be filled sooner

If you work in a fast-paced environment or do heavy lifting work daily, your acrylic nails will be under more stress. This makes the acrylic nails go through more wear and tear than those with less demanding jobs.

Some of the issues caused by heavily used acrylic nails are lifting, worn-out shapes, or nail polish is faded. Your acrylic nails do not look good, so you want to fill them to get the fresh look back again.

There you go. I hope you get your answer to the question of how many times you can fill your acrylic nails filled.

Just remember, your acrylic nails are for show, and do not use them as tools. If you keep this in mind, your acrylic nails will last longer, and you do not have to have them filled so often and save some money in the long run.
